even being a president of 5 clubs won't get u in unless its atleast one or two organization and clubs that actually matters and benefits people plus atleast one of them is something you invested into more and minimum students who participated your organization is 50 to 200 😭😭

its alright i was salutatorian, 4.0, in 8 clubs (president + historian in 2), a LOT of service hours, 27 ACT score (honestly ehh) but im still going to community college 😛

dont piss me off, a score over 1500 on the SAT is so difficult to achieve for most people and is just about as good as you can get seeing as 1600 is the cap

Yk I recently moved to the US from an Asian country and I’m going into my junior year. I honestly have no idea how the US education system works, especially when it comes to college applications 😭I’ve heard that junior year is really important for college admissions and I’m honestly worried because I don’t know how I’m supposed to figure everything out. After high school I want to go to a university that offers an undergraduate nursing program (BSN) but I have no idea how the whole process works.I also keep hearing about AP and Honors classes, the SAT, volunteering hours, clubs and extracurriculars activities and I honestly don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing. I don’t really have any extracurriculars right now and since I’m new here, I don’t even know how to join clubs or meet people. I’m also nervous about whether I’ll even be able to make friends 😭 When I was enrolling, my teacher asked me to write “ESOL” on my enrollment paperwork, so I’m also confused about what that means for my classes and college applications. Could someone please explain what I should be doing during junior year to prepare for college? Like when/how to take the SAT, how volunteering works, how to find clubs and extracurriculars, what classes I should take and basically how the whole college application process works? I feel so lost rn ☹️🥀Any advice would mean a lot 😩

SAT and public service are mostly bs depending where you're applying and academics can be fixed or demonstrated through niche and creative passion projects or writting (articles, essays or research papers). As long as you show interest and competency in your field, you should be okay.

Pretty sure going to a state school getting a bs then going to ivy for grad school is the best play. I didn't think of that but the Ivy's also don't have my area of study so there was that.

1560 is very good ! As opposed to a score like 1200 or smth it cannot hurt your application, only supplements it
