ACCT Philly, Philadelphia Timestamped for Euthanasia 😿Maxwell ACCT-A-259001 must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER or EXPERIENCED ADOPTER by MONDAY AUGUST 24TH 10AM. 🟥PLEDGE: To pledge/donate for rescue please fill out the form linked on my bio. 🟥FOSTER: If you can “foster for the rescue that may pull” or adopt email lifesaving@acctphilly.org immediately. 🟥VIDEO: 😿Meet Maxwell https://youtube.com/shorts/-zDJz8wDIrc?si=-mAufKZbLoIXi6CG 😿Maxwell came to ACCT Philly as an owner surrender on August 18th after spending about 12 years with his family. At approximately 15 years old, Maxwell’s family had begun noticing some health concerns at home, and he was not always getting along with the other pets in the household, ultimately leading them to make the difficult decision to bring him to the shelter. Since arriving, Maxwell has been a tolerant and cooperative gentleman, allowing staff to pet him and handling his full veterinary exam well. However, given his advanced age, recent weight loss, history of chronic vomiting, and elevated ALT, further diagnostics, including abdominal radiographs and/or an ultrasound, are recommended to better understand what is going on. Maxwell deserves a quiet, comfortable place where he can receive the additional medical workup and care he needs to enjoy his golden years. Due to his medical concerns and the risk that he may decline quickly in the shelter environment, Maxwell is urgently seeking placement with a rescue partner or experienced adopter. Medical 8/20 Vet Exam Maxwell is a neutered male with epaxial muscle wasting, prolonged skin turgor, and mild calculus/gingivitis. Bloodwork showed a high white blood cell count, mildly elevated blood sugar, and an elevated ALT. Given advanced age, obvious recent weight loss, reports of chronic vomiting, and ALT elevation, further diagnostics, such as abdominal radiographs/ultrasound, are warranted. Weight 8.5 lbs. In house CBC/chem17/T4: WBC 18700/ul (neutrophilia, monocytosis), glucose 160 mg/dl, ALT 430 U/L Cat is likely to decline quickly in our care, and placement of a timestamp for urgent exit with a rescue or experienced adopter is recommended in the next 72 hours. Owner 8/18 He is sick and has been for about 8 months now (throwing up everyday - not hairballs - and overeating excessively - has not been to vet). Behavior Staff 8/21 Maxwell didn't solicit attention, but was tolerant of pets on his head and back. Owner surrender notes 8/18 Neutral with strangers, children, and cats. Selective with dogs. https://new.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/ACCT-A-259001 *************************************** Contact Lifesaving if you are considering fostering, adopting or tagging at lifesaving@acctphilly.org, 1-267-385-3800 (press 6, then 1).
