At that point, the badge is testing patience and luck more than actual ability. The worst part for completionists is that extremely difficult badges can overshadow everything else. A player might have dozens or even hundreds of badges, but one nearly impossible badge can remain permanently locked in their collection. Instead of feeling proud of what they have achieved, they are focused on the one thing they cannot obtain. Insanely hard badges can be memorable, but there needs to be a limit. Difficulty should create a sense of achievement, not make the reward feel like compensation for suffering. The best badges are the ones where players can eventually say, "That was incredibly difficult, but I'm glad I did it."
