Something about your project is so much more terrifying to me than the backrooms. The environments are so messed up and confusing yet still feel familiar. That feeling of familiarity is what unnerves me the most, because I know something is obviously wrong; it’s clear as day, but I still feel a small comfort. It like the environment is trying its best to lull me into false sense of security, but failing so bad at it that the comfort turns into a feeling of something more sinister, like paranoia. It’s the small changes in floor level, or the asymmetry of a hall or doorway, that really mess me up. It’s like the uncanny valley, but for places. Many of the places also just feel claustrophobic and cramped, even if they are pretty big or open. I think it’s the winding maze like a structure that makes you feel small. It kinda reminds me of how old AI from the really early 2020s used to generate images, sorta fuzzy approximations of environments without actually being specific. It feels like the essence of that in a way. Anyway the only reason I wrote all this is because I love your work so much. It’s nice to see an original Backrooms inspired concept that clearly has so much thought, love, passion, and care put into it. In my opinion this has been the most original piece of work inspired by the Backrooms I have ever seen. There is so much here already to admire, and I can’t wait to see more of it. Very excited to see more! Thank you for all the work you put into your series, and good luck!!!
