A Liverpool mum has said her business has been booming since she took a risk and left her former job. Rebecca Stewart, from Prenton, left her role in the childcare industry to put all her efforts into The Bloom Society - an interactive flower styling experience for various events. The 37-year-old isn’t doing it alone, however; she launched it alongside Wavertree grandmum Jody Lloyd. Rebecca Stewart, from Prenton, left her role in the childcare industry to put all her efforts into The Bloom Society - an interactive flower styling experience for various events. The 37-year-old isn’t doing it alone, however; she launched it alongside Wavertree grandmum Jody Lloyd. Despite only starting in May, Rebecca said the opportunities that have come in “such a short space of time, have been amazing". Rebecca told the ECHO: “The response has been incredible and the business has grown much quicker than we ever anticipated. I’ve recently even taken the leap of leaving my job to focus on growing it all. “It all began with a baby shower in Allerton, just as a little idea, and honestly, it's been a whirlwind since. We thought we would start off a little slow and see if people understood the concept, since it’s quite popular in the Middle East. “What we’ve launched is full event styling, but the Bloom Bar is an interactive experience. So, if you have an event, we handle the full setup, create a visually appealing display, and incorporate lots of fresh, real flowers. Guests come along and get to choose their own bouquets, make them there with us, and then take them away with them at the end of the event.” Rebecca said they have already worked with the likes of Abbie Day of GypsaBella, at the launch of Love Island’s Lucy Quinn’s new salon, The Azaylia Foundation, BOXPARK Liverpool, SKIN&KIN at Carden Park and a number of weddings, including Katie Hayes wedding at Pen Isa'r Llan, in north Wales. She added: “Neither of us had been in the industry before. We actually met because we both worked in children’s care. Both of our backgrounds are very outdoorsy, and we’re obsessed with florals. I do a lot of homegrown flowers, but it comes from my side of the family - my nana and my auntie. “They were both from Liverpool, and I remember growing up and having to go to a different flower market every weekend. So the love of flowers and flower arranging has always been there. “I did my final shift on Wednesday morning. Obviously, working in the care sector meant working away as well, and my shifts were 24-hour shifts. I’ve got a family and everything as well. My husband just said the other day, ‘I know it’s really early, but I think it’s time. You need to quit and pursue this now'." Rebecca said after the Halloween and Christmas rush, the pair plan to move into more corporate events. For now, each Bloom Bar set up lasts two hours and is tailored with flowers and a colour palette to individual events - meaning no two are the same. Included in this is a mixture of seasonal flowers, foliage, focal flowers and secondary stems, depending on the occasion and the client’s chosen colours. Pricing varies depending on guest numbers and the type of set-up required. As a guide, the full interactive Bloom Bar for around 25 guests is approximately £625. Rebecca added: “I just think it’s such a massive opportunity. We can go down so many different avenues with it. We just knew we wanted to do something a little bit different with it, the business - things that people hadn’t seen before, and it seems to be paying off.
