@chillin.with.my.h: 🌱 Friday night plans: turn today’s garden harvest into future meals! 🫛❄️ While everyone else is relaxing for the weekend, I’m over here snapping green beans and getting them ready for the freezer. 😂 Because future me is going to be VERY grateful I did this tonight! Here’s how I blanch green beans for freezing: 🫛 1. Prep: Wash, snap the ends off, and cut beans into your preferred size. 💧 2. Boil: Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Add the green beans and boil for 3 minutes. 🧊 3. Ice bath: Immediately transfer the beans into a large bowl of ice water for about 3 minutes. This stops the cooking and helps preserve their color, texture, and flavor. 💦 4. Drain REALLY well: Pat them dry or let them drain thoroughly. Excess water means more ice crystals in the freezer. ❄️ 5. Package: Portion into freezer bags or containers, remove as much air as possible, label with the date, and freeze!
