And it’s a good opportunity to teach that 1. just because you give someone a gift, doesn’t mean they owe you anything, you’re not entitled to their affection/attention, etc… 2. Don’t give someone a gift if you care what happens to it afterwards 3. Be thoughtful of who you share/give affection to.

I’m a teacher, and I would always have the child take it back and return it to the owner. Not on my watch 😂 But I also don’t think they did it out of spite. Kids are still learning to understand how their actions can affect other people.
