@barblesart: New Wakanpi piece — 12x16 mixed media on watercolor paper, framed Under a deep indigo sky scattered with stars and a watching crescent moon, two Wakanpi spirits stand together in the desert — a tall figure crowned in a blazing sunburst of yellow, turquoise, and magenta feathers, and a smaller companion beside them wearing a rainbow fan headdress of teal, gold, and crimson. Both wear the mask of the unseen, their painted eyes closed to this world as they move through another. Behind them, a purple mesa skyline rises against the night, and at their feet the desert blooms — cactus, wildflowers, and scattered stardust marking the ground they walk. This one felt like kinship — an elder and a younger spirit traveling side by side, one guiding, one following, both dressed in their sacred colors for the journey. The Wakanpi keep finding their way onto my paper, and I keep following where they lead.
