As a fearful avoidant, there’s also a big key to this. We don’t really think it’s serious until it is. The whole “break up to makeup” dynamic. Initially, it doesn’t register in our heads as something that would cause confusion or hurt. We use it as a tool like u said, for validation. We never in our heads think “this person may leave me for this” until the inevitable happens. In my case, my bf got fed up and wanted to move out (this was like 6 yrs ago btw lol). I was so stunned! It was like a huge shocker that what I was doing wasn’t normal. I had normalized abandonment in my head the same way it used to happen to me. Years later , I actually had fear that he would leave so it made everything worse tbh. But lately I’ve been working on becoming secure and it’s been working. I still have weak moments, but I haven’t said “I’m done” in about a year! That’s progress for me lol

This is very true. I am a healing FA, sitting with myself was so scary. I couldn’t do it. I always asked to get back with my partner/s after sabotaging the connection. And I only started healing when previous partner refused to get back with me. Now that I am healing, I enjoy being alone so much.

I called mine out after a year of going in circles and her dropping me on our anniversary via text after i'd had a medical emergency literally days before 🙃 she did not like that I kept things as polite as possible, was honest that I still loved her but that I had to give some of that energy to myself now and would need to step back because we both had healing to do and she wasn't emotionally there yet. She didn't like the mirror I put in front of her and blocked me ✌️

im FA with a FA ex.. safe to say we switched between anxious and avoidant a lot, depending on how the other one was behaving 😂 endless cycles of breakups and who knows if this was the last one

As a FA you are completely right. The more I’m healing the thought of I really don’t want to be with this person is becoming a settled thought

This is exactly what he said to me…. It’s been 2months of no contact and he’s not texting me, I heard he is asking every girl he sees out and inviting them over to he’s place, mind u it’s a 5yrs relationship, and it’s the first time we are breaking up, no cheating or so…just because he’s sister doesn’t like me… well I’m learning to move on.

Antonio can you go more into how the people pleasing part plays into the return or even whole dynamic the FA has with you? To me, it undermines any interest or return they make because it seems it’s just pleasing and not really want they want.

Is this the angle of all their relationships because this is how they are wired? Or can they genuinely be in a relationship without navigating their relationship according to their triggers and wounds?

By the way I think a lot of women are fearful avoidants. We go thru a lot with men. We are traumatized nbs

They are like a whack a mole game. If you fix one problem another just pops up somewhere else directly after. It's impossible to settle things down with them because that would take them to want calm. You will never beat the system. No amount of sincerity on your part will work. You will become drained and ill, eventually backing off as a shell of yourself when you learn.
