@kaisonu_spt: The Basilar Grind Test is one test used to assess for joint arthritis or synovitis. Other tests include the pressure-shear and lever tests. Axial load into trapezium + compression (scour) is applied while rotating clockwise (CW) and counterclockwise (CCW) to elicit pain or crepitus (popping). (+) test: Sharp pain or crepitus at the base of the 1st CMC joint, or pain that is alleviated with distraction during the scour. #spt #dpt #physicaltherapy #handtherapy #medicalstudent
