@rac1ng.moments: Esteban Ocon’s first Formula 1 victory came at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix, in one of the most chaotic races of the season. Starting from eighth, Ocon avoided the huge first-lap crash that eliminated several frontrunners and brought out the red flag. At the restart, most of the field switched from intermediate tyres to slicks as the track dried, but Lewis Hamilton remained on intermediates and was forced to pit at the end of the lap. That handed Ocon the lead, and the Alpine driver suddenly found himself at the front of a Grand Prix for the first time. From there, Ocon produced an incredible drive under pressure, holding off Sebastian Vettel for almost the entire race. Behind them, Fernando Alonso put up a legendary defensive battle against Lewis Hamilton, helping keep the Mercedes driver from catching Ocon in the closing stages. Ocon crossed the line first after 70 laps to claim his maiden F1 victory, giving Alpine its first win and becoming the 111th different Grand Prix winner in F1 history.
