girl i resonated with how you feel about CN - no shade. i watched The Odyssey because i am a fan of the cast, wasn’t particularly wowed but also wasn’t disappointed. still don’t understand the hype about him tho, he comes off as very… male gaze if you get what i mean 😭

I liked the Nolan movie but I have not read any version of the book nor have I seen any other Odyssey film. I've been listening to people's critiques and now I want to read the book. I almost picked up a copy yesterday but didn't bc I didn't know which translation to get. do you recommend one? I'm leaning towards Emily Wilson translation

So slow of a reader I started Emily Wilson’s translation of the Odyssey like two months ago and only now am I seeing the end 😂. It was a fabulous read through, and makes it so I have no desire to see the Nolan film.

I appreciate your slow reading because you take time to understand the books. I feel like a lot of creators just started making it about the number of books they read. I also feel like there is more pressure to read faster and more books because they were gifted or there’s a partnership so something is expected by a certain deadline which in my opionion does not resonate well with followers. I think you are probably very busy with a lot of free work you do for our book club, with reading and also having a full time job but that makes you a much better creator in my opionion because you are a real person.
