Which of my plants actually needs water this week? I kept guessing, so I made the app. QUICK ANSWER Do not water on a fixed weekly ritual. Log the date each plant was last watered and how often that plant wants water, then let the list tell you what is due today. Checking the log takes five seconds and stops both overwatering and forgotten pots. WHAT I ACTUALLY BUILT A weekly watering list for the plants I actually own. Each one gets a watering interval and a last-watered date. Plants due today sit at the top with an orange dot. I tap a plant when I water it and it moves to Watered for now. WHAT IS ON MY LIST RIGHT NOW German Chamomile, Sweet Basil and Holy Basil, because those are what I have going. Chamomile and basil dry out at different speeds, which is the whole reason a single watering day never worked for me. HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WATER BASIL AND CHAMOMILE? There is no single number. Basil in a small pot on a warm windowsill dries out far faster than chamomile in a deeper bed.
