I walked up and asked the regional managers at men’s warehouse about some labor law stuff, and the look of terror on their faces for a couple seconds was delicious

The company I work for does those surveys every year. Last year, each department had meetings with some of the ELT, discussing the our "anonymous" answers to the questions asked in the survey. Those meetings went terribly. But the important thing is they had 89% engagement in the survey. This year's survey is happening now, the ELT's goal is 90% engagement. We have one day left (10 days total) to do the volunteer totally confidential anonymous survey. We are sitting at 62% engagment... They think that crap is so important, well guess they're going to be big mad come Monday morning.

i work for a large grocery store chain and I just loudly complain about our issues to customers and that usually works😭 that's how I got them to do something about our extreme fly problem. customers were complaining about it even before corporate came, so every time they said something I would loudly be like "im so sorry, the flies are terrible! we've been complaining about it all summer and corporate wont help us! im so sorry!" lmfao

we had Arthur Blank come visit the home depot I worked at DURING COVID. bc we were one of the highest grossing stores in the country. this billionaire walked around ever aisle with like 8 security guards while we were literally told we can’t talk to him.

I work in an industrial facility. the supers let it get disgusting even though we put in regular safety complaints about the dirt, etc.
but once the big wigs are set to come, they spend a week pushing for a deep clean and organization, instead of listening to us, and putting in regular work orders to clean that garbage up.

The TH-HAIR-APIST :
Oddly enough, it doesn’t even have to be that serious. During an internal corporate inspection, i pointed out that on our mail out post card coupons, our chain hair salon was mentioned we were next to a major grocery store. We never were. To our left, there was a sports themed competitor next to where grocery store used to be before it moved. To our right, there was competitor who starts with Super next to the spot where the grocery store moved to. I pointed out that mentioning the grocery store was sending our business to our competitors either way, and they should change it to Behind the fast food chain that sat in front of us, the one that has the meats. Nothing was ever done. That chain salon wasn’t the Great they claimed to be

My Roman Empire is labor rights, specifically misclassification. But no one knows what it is….or how it happens. The only folks I have left to tell about it is the state labor agency (bc who is actually trusting the DOL at this point?)

I’ve worked at a hotel for about 3 years now, and my GM always says she wants to hear about how we’re doing and what could be better, but EVERY TIME there’s a scheduled meeting with management or the owners, it’s always canceled (always by the GM). I’ve never even MET the owners of the property. They don’t actually want to know how things are going, they just want us to get the money from guests.

That's why you should know your rights and make complaints in writing. If they do anything to you such as cutting your hours or terminating after you make a protected complaint (which is what this scenario depicts) that's considered retaliation which is illegal too.
