@officialmyahgarcia: Disclaimer; this is solely about the people out there who have issues with their parents. I have said this before and I’ll say it again- don’t have kids if you’re not going to love them unconditionally. I grew up in a home where my mother, the one who carried me for 9 months, took “care of me” was the ONE person in my life who DESTROYED my self worth. Who destroyed how I think about myself still to this day. I was the oldest of 4. I became the mom, protector, fighter, the one who took my siblings to a different room, on a walk, etc when my mom was acting erratic. She may have never put her hands on us. But the way she spoke to me, about me, around me.. no kid should have to go through that. The amount of times I heard that I am ugly, not good enough, a mess up in this world not from the kids at school, not from people online, but my mother. I heard that more in my home where I was supposed to feel safe. I made really bad choices my teenage years, because I craved the attention from my mom who was so focused on my two younger siblings. I was never the kid she wanted. She didn’t want a dark hair baby, with brown eyes, and darker skin then she had. She didn’t want to marry my dad but still made that choice and at the end of the day, my dad was still the best parent I had. I often ask myself why I crave to have my mom still in my life. When I have the hard days as a mom I don’t have my mom to run too to ask the questions I have. Go grab coffee with. Sit in her arms and be a kid again. Postpartum was truly one of the hardest things I went though and I had to go through it without my mom. I had to learn to deal with it myself and get myself out of my funk. I didn’t have a village. I had my kids, and my husband. That’s it. Being a mother is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I wouldn’t be here without my kids and my husband. I am not perfect. I have my good and my bad days. But I have to remind myself that I am nothing like my mother. I don’t want to be anything like her. I will never make my kids feel like they aren’t listened to, loved, respected, etc. because I know how that feels. Being a mother is a gift God gives to us. And I will never take that for granted. I am able to forgive but I will not forget what I had to go through and the trauma I live with still to this day. #trauma #momissues #fypシ #MomsofTikTok #relatable
