Когда мы познакомились с моей женой Гаухар, я, конечно, рассказал ей о Welcome. Тогда это была скорее моя мечта. Во многом именно благодаря ей Welcome вообще появился. После нескольких лет достаточно спокойной и комфортной жизни именно она поддержала меня в решении снова нырнуть с головой в стартап. По-взрослому. Со всеми рисками, бессонными ночами, неопределенностью и абсолютной верой в то, что мы строим. Она любит Welcome так же сильно, как я. Она советует. Смотрит со стороны, когда я уже слишком глубоко внутри. Поддерживает, когда это необходимо. И умеет отойти в сторону именно тогда, когда мне нужно самому пройти очередной сложный участок. Но самое главное - она создает тот мир, в который я могу возвращаться. Моя семья, наши дети и она сама дают мне силы справляться с тем темпом, который я выбрал. Back then, it was more of a dream. A big idea I had carried in my head for years and hoped to turn into a global company one day. But there was one important thing I didn’t tell her: what it’s like to be married to a startup founder. Especially over the past year, when I’ve been working 24/7. And for the last six months, it feels more like 48 hours a day. A startup consumes you completely. You wake up with it, fall asleep with it, talk about it over breakfast, think about it on vacation, and sometimes you’re physically at home while your mind is still at work. And all this time, there is someone beside you who, in many ways, becomes part of the startup too - even if they never signed up for the job. My Zhanym didn’t just make it through this period. In many ways, Welcome exists because of her. After several years of a relatively calm and comfortable life, she was the one who supported my decision to dive headfirst into startup life again. For real. With all the risks, sleepless nights, uncertainty, and absolute belief in what we are building. She loves Welcome just as much as I do. She gives me advice. She looks at things from the outside when I’m already too deep inside. She supports me when I need it. And she knows when to step aside and let me navigate the next difficult stretch on my own. But most importantly, she creates the world I can always come home to. My family, our children, and Gaukhar herself give me the strength to keep up with the pace I have chosen. Perhaps one piece of advice for future founders is to talk to your family in advance about the fact that a startup will be a difficult journey for everyone.
