@tcerovecki: What does a bone bruise on MRI after an ACL injury actually mean? 🦵 It isn't a skin bruise. After a pivot-shift type injury, MRI may show bone contusions where the femur and tibia impacted during abnormal knee movement, commonly involving the lateral femoral condyle and lateral tibial plateau. That pattern can tell us more about the force of the injury and why the knee may still be painful or swollen.
