@themindfulremedy: 💚 FENTANYL AWARENESS ISN'T JUST ABOUT DRUGS. IT'S ABOUT PEOPLE. Today is National Fentanyl Prevention & Awareness Day—and I'm spending it exactly where I believe I should be: In my community. At a Health & Wellness Fair, talking about prevention, mental health, harm reduction, recovery, resources and something we desperately need more of: Compassion. Because behind every number is somebody. Somebody's child. Somebody's parent. Somebody's best friend. Somebody who may be struggling right now and still deserves the opportunity to recover. My somebody was Matthew. He was 25. And losing him changed the direction of my life. So when you see me at community events, organizing, educating, speaking out and soon walking the halls of Washington, D.C.—understand something: This isn't a hobby for me. It's a promise. Matthew's story will not end with fentanyl. I'll keep telling it until somebody listens. I'll keep educating until somebody learns something that saves a life. And I'll keep showing up until families affected by substance use are treated with the same dignity, compassion and urgency we would give any other family facing a healthcare crisis. 💚 Today we raise awareness.
