i worked at a jewelry store and unofficially ran it. my manager was toxic and my coworkers did barely anything. we delegated, shared the tasks, but i was the only one doing mine and got blamed for the others not doing theirs. a brand "stole" me away and i quit. i needed a health break bc of the big C and came back a year later as a brand representive. my entire team left but 2 people. my former manager was sent into early retirement and they hired 5 girls to cover all the things i did allone. the store was a MESS and the new manager who only knew me from hearing about how good i worked begged me to come back. i told him "i'm sorry Mr XYZ, but company (insert jewelry store company) can no longer afford to employ me." nothing feels better than to come back in a higher position and see the 💩 storm that ruined everything. employers: apreciate your good workers. they might burn everything down when they leave
