🌊 22 YEARS living in Flagstaff, Arizona, and we have NEVER seen anything like this! 😳 This is MORE footage from our drive home from Scottsdale yesterday, when we found ourselves driving through what looked like a RIVER on I-17—the major freeway connecting Phoenix and Flagstaff! Flagstaff sits at 7,000 feet elevation, and when it rains, water typically runs down off the plateau. We’ve seen plenty of rain and runoff over the years, but NEVER anything like this on the freeway! We actually left Scottsdale early because we knew it was supposed to rain all day and figured the roads would only get worse. We had NO IDEA how bad things already were.🤯 It wasn’t even raining that hard as we drove, but the water was rising FAST. Cars were merging into one lane, logs were floating past us, and within minutes, the floodwaters had spread across BOTH sides of the interstate! 😳 Thankfully, police were there helping traffic through, and my husband was driving because I’ve been dealing with a rough chronic illness flare. ❤️We made it through safely, and within MINUTES, I-17 was shut down. Nearby roads through Oak Creek Canyon and Sedona were also affected by devastating flooding. We made it safely home to Flagstaff, where we discovered an actual LAKE covering the golf course behind our house! Thankfully, our home is up on a hill and wasn’t flooded. Our original video has now reached MILLIONS of people, and we’ve been interviewed by news stations about what happened. But what matters most is that we made it home safely, and my heart is with those who weren’t so fortunate. ❤️ We’ve seen homes underwater, roads washed out, and communities devastated by these floods. 🙏 Praying for everyone affected by the flooding across Arizona, especially those who’ve lost homes or are still dealing with the aftermath. ❓Have you EVER seen flooding like this in Arizona? #ArizonaFlooding #flagstaffflooding #I17 #ArizonaWeather #FlashFlood
