I think if I can offer any words of wisdom, from a ‘big sister’ type perspective - it’s okay to allow yourself time to stay in the hole you might feel like you’re in… all too often we’re told the goal is to ‘be happy’ and ‘do the work’ to get ourselves up to where we think everyone else is, but that takes both mental and physical energy that we just don’t have during periods of low mood. Sometimes we have to give ourselves the grace and reprieve from that to actually rest and recuperate, to find a new baseline and focus on finding small moments of joy during an otherwise difficult time. As humans, we can often feel very alone and I know it seems futile to say you aren’t if that’s your reality right now, but the most important thing you can invest in in your life is your community; whether online or in real life - find people you can trust, find people you can be honest and open with and allow those people to be your support, even if that’s a scary thing do to ❤️🫶🏼

I struggle a lot my self and sometimes when I do I paraphrase Schopenhauer; the more clearly one perceives existence as it truly is, the harder it becomes to sustain a carefree optimism. I mean we may struggle but at least we are aware enough to view the world without filters or illusions. To me it at least counts for something when it feels that everyone else is thriving.
