I can pronounce each word correctly .However If someone asks me why English words pronounced differently I have no valid answer for some word .

When you think about it, English spelling and pronunciation are ridiculously confusing to English language learners. A lot of it is due to vowel shift which happened between the years 1400 and 1700.
