First, a round silicone mold with a sunflower design is used. The first layer of concrete mix is poured into the mold. To reinforce the stone and add durability, a piece of wire mesh is placed over the wet concrete. A second layer of concrete is then poured on top, and the surface is carefully leveled flush with the edge of the mold using a trowel. Once the concrete is completely dry and set, the hardened stone is demolded. The piece is then painted: the center of the sunflower is painted brown, and the petals a bright, vibrant yellow.
