Why do people live in a tiny apartment in Tokyo? If you move just a little bit outside of Tokyo, the rent drops a lot. Like for me, I pay only 75,000 yen for a 2-bedroom place with a huge balcony.

Honestly not a bad apartment! I hope you didn't pay an arm and a leg for it because I know foreigners go through extra hoops sometimes. Last time I lived in Tokyo they tried to up charge my security deposit and the key money because they assumed I was a regular foreigner. They were surprised when I called them out on it and showed them my residency card. 😂

I've watched quite a few videos of people living in Japan, including Japanese people themselves, and one thing I've noticed is that their homes tend to be a lot less decorated compared to homes in Europe or North America. They often seem to keep things pretty minimal, with just the essentials and maybe a poster or a small decorative item here and there.
