It’s super sad for the dog, but it’s entirely the owners fault. I would never allow my dog off leash to go after anyone. Then again, my dogs don’t act like that. That dog definitely was a threat, and that was not friendly behavior, he was protecting his territory and reacting to the owners emotions toward the officer being there. Could have been avoided 🥺

Love how they want people to wait until an animal attacks you first before you should defend yourself. I'm not going to wait until I see what the dog is going to do before I defend myself. I have had so many dogs charged at myself and my kids. These owners need to be responsible. put your dog on a leash. next time keep the dog inside the house. good job officer.
