the truth is dpf filters are a money racket to cost us money, cars runs better without them. The same with ad blue, just a costly scam. But the most useless thing on newer cars is the stop start function, it can cause more damage to a lot of components and it doesn't save the planet🤔😂

The regen procesx burns the soot which then becomes ash, which stays in the dpf. Ash will build up over a 100,000 miles or more. So eventually over a long time Ash will build up from burning the soot and then dpf would have to be flushed out or replaced. My transit connect has been fine for 80,000 miles with motorway mileage.

These DPF filters the manufacturers told us were meant to last the life time of the vehicle and as one comment already said they don't tell you when you buy these vehicles only if you run it for miles on the motorway every day.There are vehicles less than five years old already having problems with DPF filters and now the manufacturers are jumping on the bandwagon by charging extortionate prices to replace them.Just another way of making money and ripping people off.

I used to go on motorway every week for for years and years guess what still have to take care of to garage and they say you need a new DPF and that’s every 2 years £500 ish so got it removed not one problem in 4 years
