As a Blood DK tank I have done this several times and my entire group telling me to die and I refuse to because I am tired of wiping and trying the same boss 5-10 times.

I would not be dead that is a lie, I have shadowmeld and my tanks direction has always been chaotic towards pug dps so yeah pls forget to kick miss a cd pull a grp we find it entertaining as loki takes the wheel

This happens in FF14 as well. Warriors and Paladins soloing end-bosses. I don’t mind, it’s cool to watch.

Yep a group kicked me out as a blood DK because they didn’t know the boss mechanics and I was soloing him. They wanted me to just die to try again. I had him down to less than 5% and booted me. Annoying AF

well people die mostly bc the tank makes it hard to follow the mechanics. tanks job is to keep the group safe just bc you can't die from the front doesn't mean you can't preplan where it has to go so the DPS can bring their own to the void portal

haven't had this experience yet in WoW, but I had something similar happen in Tera back in the day. Doing the Sky Gardens instance trying to get the secret boss key. whole party died during last boss and I was last standing as a reaper(dps) and solo'd the boss from 70%HP. the entire party was expecting me to die, but I had lifeleech and perfect dodge timing and won. that was the most hyped team I ever played with. they were cheering me on from the chat the whole way lol. good times.

This is something a non-tank will never understand. This feels exceptional during a raid when the whole team down and you get the boss from 10% to 0 by yourself the most epic feeling ever! Did it as Protection Pally, Guardian Druid, Blood DK. And until you are a tank that know your limits and break them, you can never understand....

I’ve seen DKs and pallies waste 10 mins trying to solo bosses in keys and it’s like bro just wipe so we can salvage the timer 🤦🏼♂️

Oh the good Ole days, feral druid dosing for a boss fight cause the guild thought the Warrior was the better tank. Watching him go down, the boss start one shotting everyone. Going bear to tank him just to have the last couple of surving members get killed by boss mechanics. Me telling everyone not to release and then soloing the boss. I miss those days!
