🔥Old Post BUT TIMELY for someone!!🔥 Counterfeit will often look close enough to covenant to make you question your discernment. That’s why you have to stop asking, “Does this person look like what I prayed for?” and start asking, “Does this relationship produce the fruit God said it would?” Counterfeit can have chemistry. Counterfeit can have history. Counterfeit can even have spiritual language. But covenant carries alignment, character, fruit, obedience, peace, accountability, and purpose. God is not just sending you someone who can make your heart race. He is preparing you for someone who can walk in agreement with what He is building in your life. And sometimes the greatest sign that something is counterfeit is not that it looks bad—it’s that you have to keep convincing yourself that it’s God. Baby, you don’t have to force covenant. You don’t have to chase covenant. You don’t have to manipulate covenant into existence. What God ordains will not require you to abandon your discernment to keep it. Counterfeit imitates the promise. Covenant carries the purpose. So if God has been removing certain people, exposing certain connections, or making you uncomfortable with something you once begged Him for—don’t ignore what He is showing you. He may not be taking love away from you. He may be protecting you from settling for a counterfeit version of it. 🤍 “By their fruit you will recognize them.” — Matthew 7:16
