So when Minato approached her, #Koyuki wasn’t someone with a clean slate. She was guarded, suspicious, and constantly expecting to be hurt. Even when she pushed Minato away and told him, “You make me sick,” it came from fear. She knew he knew Igarashi, and she immediately assumed the worst. When she realized she was wrong, she apologized, and that became the beginning of their friendship. And then there’s the mall scene. #Minato sees #igarashi before Koyuki does, and his first instinct is to protect her comfort. He doesn’t want her to see someone who might make her uncomfortable. He puts her feelings before his own curiosity. But no matter how much Minato tries to protect her, he can’t erase her past. He can be her medication. He can listen, stay, and show her that she’s safe. But he can never be her cure. The cure was never supposed to be Minato. It was always going to be Koyuki learning to lower those walls, understand where her fears came from, trust again, and eventually learn that she deserves to feel safe within herself.
