If this surveillance camera is true the officer should definitely be held accountable for his actions, fined, arrested and force to pay the 1 million dollars...it's not his place to place judgment...our court system does...

This is a hard situation to make a decision on, even though the law states that a police officer should not take actions into his own hands, but I have to say I probably would’ve did the same thing if somebody’s beating up on an old woman or beating up on a woman. So I think the officer should be just given a warning, and the man should still be held for some type of crime for beating up his elderly mother. It’s almost like saying two wrongs don’t make a right, but I would not agree with the lawsuit against the officer. You could give him some type of punishment, but he don’t need to be sued.
