Thing is, her arc is mostly run by eren himself. He is the one that creates the distance between him and mikasa and becomes monstrous enough for mikasa to give in. Moreover, others have to keep asking her if she is capable of killing eren. It's really only in the very end when she has been pushed to the brink by others that she has become "free" and has the agency to kill eren.

Mikasa is pretty enjoyable female character, but when it comes to writting no. There are female characters that are way, way better written than Mikasa. For example like C.C., Momo Yaoyorozu, Ochako Uraraka, Rio Kamishiro, the list goes on. And i am saying that as AOT fan. Even if we all love her we can't lie to ourselfs

I love Mikasa because of their relationship and the way that she is written as so casually defiant in so much of her attitude. She did every action because she chose to do it, no one forced her to do anything, not even Eren. Her last words to him were even headstrong, he asked her to throw away the scarf, and she says ‘nope’. I’m doing a whole series on her on my page, and aot is my #1 manga and anime too. ❤️

mikasa had her development and writting in season 1 and the ova( lost girls) and it was peak, not every character has to be developed through the entire series to be called peak, nonetheless she had amazing developments especially in s4
