I disagree on this....not all instrumentalist..... sometimes I don't use monitor and play fine.... yes....am talking as a sound engineer and also as a talking drummer

I don't use in ear, if your sound is good and perfect and u have good speaker, u won't need in ear, I love you said, u can't give KSO in ear, because b4 in ear professionals musician like KSO Pasuma KSA Baba Obe they don't use in ear ,so it's in ear is for communication

Gbam, somebody is finally stating this... Both should be incorporated properly, I love in-ear for clarity (Chord movements or changes, etc.) and communications, while stage monitors for the general feeling 😊 (Na this one dey bring about innovations or creativity while on stage). Stage monitors gives real live output, while in-ear I want to say is custom-made, as in tailored for your pleasure alone 😂

it depends on environment sir. if you want to do a concert and studio sessions, in ear is highly recommended but when it comes to lagbo lagbo, if there's a professional sounds speakers and monitors and also a professional sound engineer and most importantly a musician who is not a noise maker from the start, there will not be noise at all trust me you will have a balance stage performance. take a Good look at akintayo live performance at BBO wedding, abeg shey you hear anything like noise ? even the recording was a bam. there's no other reasons for that but because those who are playing are all PROFESSIONALS even the sound engineer is a GURU. Trust me, if you use in ear for tungba live performance, bro the difference will be clear. Even audience will only feel the vibes from the front. but when it comes to audience moving closer to the singer, there will be a change in sound wave and vibes. So don't let us get this wrong. Kay slliky who always use a full stage don't use in ear ooo and trust me, THERE WILL BE NO NOISE ANYWHERE. It's because they are professionals. When it comes to concert, studio sessions, In ear is very good like very very good. That's it from my own perspective
