The fact that nicks family had never truly accepted Rachel is atrocious and his mom only began to see her as a person once she found out who Rachel’s true father was, it was really disheartening bc what if she didn’t have this gazillionaire as her dad then they would’ve never even had nick rekindle his family connection 😭

Reading the book years after watching the movie, it was good, but I was STRUGGLING. I felt I was reading LOTR with the amount of descriptions when I'm more of a character development fan, but I was holding on for my girl Astrid. I kept remembering the movie as much more fun. THEN i rewatched the movie.......... How did they manage to americanize the movie SO MUCH 😭 What do you mean Nick has to take over "The Company" WHAT COMPANY???? Misses the whole point about the specific class of people the book was criticizing.
