Her skin might maybe a little sensitive going from protected by fur -> no fur, they can get a bit of sensory overload suddely being able to feel everything touching their skin and temperature change etc. I'm feeling a bit similar after a visit to the dentist, mouth feels different, tongue is irritated from different textures. We'll get used to it Pixie, it'll be ok in a few days 🩷

The rules: peers who have actually made the thing, candor aimed at the work and never the person, and no authority to mandate a single change. The director decides. Paste your draft and run these five in order. 1| Build the panel Here's my draft: [paste]. Assemble a panel of five peers who have actually shipped this kind of work before, each with a different lens. Name each one, what they've made and what they'd care about most. Don't make them nice. Make them people who've been burned by the exact mistake I'm about to make. 2| The candor pass Now let each of them react. Aim everything at the work, never at me. No praise sandwiches, no encouragement, no softening. Where the draft is boring, say boring. Where it's confused, say confused. I need what they'd say to each other about it, not to me. 3| The good note test Rewrite every reaction into a good note. A good note names what's wrong, what's missing, what's unclear or what doesn't add up. It does not prescribe the fix. Strip out any note that's really just someone rewriting it their way, and tell me which ones you stripped. 4| Find the spine Ask the panel one question: what is this actually about, in one sentence? If they can't agree, or the sentence is dull, that's the real problem and everything else is noise. Tell me what the spine should be instead. 5| The director's call I keep authority, not the panel. Sort every note into fix now, fix later, or ignore. For each ignore, tell me what I'm betting on by ignoring it. Then give me the single note that would change the draft the most if I acted on it today.
