@masscat_shop: One thing I wondered about with portable ACs was where the water goes. Turns out, emptying it is quick and simple, so it’s not nearly the hassle I expected. #airconditioner #portableac #hometok #homeessential #summerdays
I didn’t hook mine up right and it kept making water till I read the directions 😆 then no water and cools great

Depends on humidity

Most newer expensive units are designed to have the condensation run over the condenser which gets hot so the condensation cools the unit and evaporates but if there’s excess it runs out through the exhaust.I have a DeLonghi unit and never had to drain it

An a/c that doesn’t make water, don’t cool the room.

About half as efficient as a regular window unit also and window units are not efficient.

I used to fill up half a gallon a day before converting it to a dual hose because it was sucking in the humid air in my room. The evaporation discharge is enough now.

The new ones evaporate the water. So no draining.

Dual hose units are much better. These suck so much air out of your house that it creates negative pressure and pulls outside air in to balance the pressure. This creates high humidity and greatly reduced cooling efficiency.

You should connect a hose to the back and lead it to a bucket, guarantee you’ll fill that bucket up very fast.

those things produce nothing but water and they also make your house or room so humid that the sheetrock will start falling off the walls

i live in florida and every 24 hrs i drained 15 gallons! 3 (5 gallon buckets) until i used a circular saw drill bit and cut out a perfect hole in my trailer to feed the hose through it and it drained under my trailer now and dont need to do what this guy is doing in the video.

There's a big problem. It only has one hose. if you want it to actually cool down your house and not just pull in hot air by creating negative pressure in that room , you need two hoses.
