As a native person, yes white sage and smudging are closed but thats the physical plant. Incense is not the same thing, although look up the brand you are getting to make sure it’s ethically sourced and not stealing the actual plant to make it. But you cant smudge with incense so its more iffy than actual white sage which is 100% closed

Oh shit I just recently got into witchcraft and this incense stuff and I bought white sage and lavender incense (like a mix of both), can I still use it or should I buy another one??

Yeahhh I gave all my white sage incense and cleansers to Mother Nature. I wasn’t aware at first that it was a closed practice so I no longer use them

hiii fellow witch here! traditionally white sage was meant for necromancy and contracting the deceased, so it can create space to invite spirits, both good and bad, so remember to light some other incense directly after to avoid that<3
