Research by Syrians for Truth and Justice, supported by satellite imagery, documented illegal logging across 114 forest sites, including 57 locations where forests were almost entirely cleared. Thousands of trees were cut for commercial purposes, while olive groves were also systematically damaged, uprooted, and confiscated. This destruction has caused significant loss of forest cover, biodiversity, agricultural livelihoods, and cultural heritage.
