Also helps if you’ve had a place in between then and paid on time every month for at least a year. That’s what happened to me. Even though I had a collection from a previous place, I provided proof that I paid every month on time and was approved. Still had to put a full month deposit down, but at least helped me get in.

me and my bf have been getting denied despite having 750+ credit scores, 8k a month combined income and 0 criminal history or evictions because we dont have any rental history all 3 places weve applied to want us to have a cosigner (usually around 1.7k price point in long beach CA) like this is genuinely getting to a point 😭😭😭😭

Pro tip call a free rental locator they will come with a list of apts that work with 2nd chance properties!!! Sometimes you can get free movers or a gift cards!!!

Also, this only works for bigger cities, lots of air bnb owners need people since not enough people are using it to vacation, they don’t do any kind of credit or background checks. They are the same price as rentals! Main downside is they have access to your account to get the money from you if you don’t pay

if you owe a previous property you need to TRY to pay the balance even if its $20 a month… it shows that you are trying to clear your balance and if youre trying that atleast shows them commitment 🤷🏾♀️

I was able to get my low income but if I would have applied for regular wouldn't have gotten it I don't owe anything just don't have any credit I got it because it was my mom's she ended up getting section 8 they let me keep it very blessed building my rental history at the moment

That’s how I feel where I’m at, I do owe a balance but I’m trying to get that paid off, but I do apply to be on waiting list and they don’t call or they call for a studio

The second chance one scammed us then evicted us. We had the first month free then they took it away right when we moved in. We were trying to pay rent the next month but they wouldn’t let us
