God never said music is forbidden either 🤷‍♀️Hadiths literally came 250 years after Muhammad's death and I'm pretty sure God literally wants the best for humans, he tells us that we cannot drink alcohol and get drunk in the Quran so why would he forbid us from something that'll make us feel better? 🎼 (as an agnostic atheist)

one thing I don’t get about hijab and coverage is why don’t men have the same rules? women have hair and so do men. men’s hair can be as tempting for a women too. or why do men just have to cover between their belly and knees while women have to cover the whole body? if its about temptation, women aren’t pure angel beings that don’t feel any attraction- we too feel attracted so why don’t they have to cover their whole body?

From a neutral muslim perspective , I see the hijab more as a tool than an obligation. I don’t personally wear it solely “for Allah,” because if it were only for Allah, why can we take it off at home when Allah still sees us? I see it more as something that may reduce unwanted attention from some men, but it is not a guarantee of protection. Women who wear hijab and dress fully covered can still be harassed, assaulted, or raped. So ultimately, clothing does not determine how a woman should be treated. If someone feels safer or more comfortable wearing it, they should. But I don’t think it should be forced or used to judge a woman’s faith or worth. Allah is merciful and knows what is best for us.

head covering is cultural. I'm not Arab so I'm not going to force myself to dress how Arab women from that time dressed. a lot of people think being Muslim means you have to change your culture

Men and women both wore because of the environment, i feel since it’s a universal command (doing till today) men should also wear their headscarf

I also heard that it wasn't only a cultural thing then but a practical thing as there were a lot of sandstorms there so having fabric really close to your face and eyes was a way to maintain safety. Also that both men and women wore khimars historically because of those reasons. idk tho

I’m not trying to be rude I’m just trying to address this, god said the khimar which means covering their chest because women a long time ago already wore a hijab ontop of their head ! 🤍

women used to wear the headscarf, but the verse simply tells them to extend their headscarfs (khimar) to cover their chests. you dont need any logic to wear the hijab, it is commanded by Allah and thats all that you need to do it.

Quran 24:31 instructs believer women to draw their khimar over their chest.People mean the khimar as headscarf. But Khimar = cover, not head covering. If you look at the root word, the same is used for alcohol because it covers the mind.

From what I understand, a “Khimar” isn’t necessarily a head covering. It’s any covering. For the South East Asian folks it’s basically what an “Orna” or “Dupatta” is. Besides it has nothing to do with covering for the sake of covering either. It’s a means to not trigger illicit sex. Exactly as how Jilbab is for protection from cultural and locational harm and recognition, nothing else.

The chest covering is the main priority yet ppl act like hair strands are sinful. Ppl accuse women of not wearing hijab properly if theyre showing their neck and hair strands when they're probably the ones wearing it properly.

actually the verse says to "draw over their chests also" meaning cover the head but after this revelation start covering ur chest too. In Arabic every word matters. without each word the meaning changes. pls dont spread wrong verses

The khimar was a cultural headpiece women wore to protect against harsh climates and it’s mentioned within the command to cover your chest, it is not explicitly said to be obligatory. Allah is incredibly intentional with his words and commands, if it was mandatory it would be stated as such just like the command to cover your chest.
