Yeah, not good. There’s usually some bracket supports that are 2 by 4’s that go in between the studs to help reinforce them ….. yeah don’t do that !!

Every stud does that. Are you measuring the deflection to a spec? How much is to much? It's really not a problem. Drywall will shore it up.
