@itshannahzhang: Follow @itshannahzhang if you’re building an ambitious career on your own terms. Golf is humbling in a very specific way: you can do everything “right,” hit one beautiful shot, and still have a terrible round. As a beginner, I’m learning to separate effort from immediate results. The useful feedback is whether my swing, patience, and reset after a bad shot are improving. That is a much healthier scorecard for anything that compounds slowly. The study I mention is a 2016 paper by Yvette Taminiau and Aaltje Wiersma on business partners at Dutch golf courses. It was qualitative, so it does not prove golf causes better deals. The mechanism is interesting: hours of informal play reveal how someone handles frustration, rules, and other people. 🏷️ golf, ambitious hobbies, entrepreneurship, business, networking, personal growth, high achievers, beginner mindset
