We did that. We were first ones in line 3 hours prior to the doors to be open. I was trying to get this for my son. 10 minutes before the actual door is open the manager of the store outside and said that they pre-sold them to the people who camped outside the day before. They pre-sold the bears. My son had a panic attack. He is only seven. We spent two weeks driving back-and-forth every day. The store did not open on the date. They said they would. They opened two weeks after the actual reopening date dates. I was completely horrified. They knew who I was. They knew we were driving back back-and-forth. They preached sold these bears. And while my son was crying, one of the workers of the store recorded a video of the store manager, acting completely immature. Happy about the fact that both the bears are gone and they don’t have to deal with it anymore.

This is really good advice! People wanting freddy, while you wait for your store to open, i would definitely look into how big the town is, how popular the location is if it’s a returning store, and how big of demand for freddy is there. I live in a small-ish town but for me to be first in line i had to get there at 10 pm the night prior. People started coming at around 10:40 and 4 am. If you do plan on overnight camping PLEASEE bring water, snacks, shade, blankets, a chair, and something to do!! Many stores, depending on location and how far into store completion they are in, do “soft” openings which means they open around 2-4pm, so the wait could be longer than 10-11 am! If the manager is nice they usually come out before opening and tell you how the system for limited items work at that location and what they have in the store. Good luck freddy hunting!

It’s not a guarantee to getting Freddy because every store/GM has their own rules and nothing is stopping the employees from buying it before it goes on the floor. Lots of stores never even had a Freddy for sale.
