My favorite story is how he did the PERFORM THIS WAY parody of Lady Gaga and someone in her management said no to it. He did it anyway (which is his right under parody laws) and gave the proceeds to charity. She found out that someone said no to it and immediately was like YES I APPROVE. To be parodied by Weird Al is a bigger honor than any award or even being Knighted by royalty!

I heard the reason he doesn't tour that much is because he sat down with his band and they figured out how much they'd need to go out and be ok (not rich) and spend the rest with their families. They realized that they only needed to tour every few years to achieve that, so that's what they did.

He does one helluva live show too. Venue I saw him in was indoors and not very large, but man the effort and energy was there the entire time. Gets in the audience and aisles, quick changes costumes without any delay, has skits playing on a projector when he’s not out there. Total package. A man who had done 1k shows by that point was still putting it on like he needed the blow up
