Eat, awake, sleep, YOU 🤍 We’re starting to work toward a more consistent newborn routine with my 4-week-old using the EASY method: Eat → Awake → Sleep → You (aka a few minutes where mom gets to be a human too). Right now, I’m using this less as a strict “schedule” and more as a predictable rhythm. After a full feed, we have a little awake time, then I help her settle for sleep—rather than automatically nursing her back to sleep every time. My goal is to start gently separating feeding from falling asleep, while also learning the difference between her hunger cues and tired cues. If I know she had a full feed and is growing well, I can work toward spacing feeds closer to every 3 hours instead of assuming every fuss means she needs to nurse. She is ONLY 4 weeks old, so obviously I’m still following her cues and feeding her when she’s hungry. We’re not sleep training over here 😂 I’m just starting to build the foundations for a predictable newborn feeding and sleep routine that we can build on as she gets older.
