What happened since the last conversation? What did we agree to last time? Are there open tasks? Any recent emails I should know about? Anything late? Anything awkward I should know before I get on the call? Then I don't want a 40-page report. I want one screen: here's the context, here are the three things that matter, and here are the questions I'd ask.
