During her final flight aboard Air Force One as White House press secretary on August 21, Leavitt revealed what she plans to do next. She told reporters she will return to MAGA Inc. in September. Leavitt worked for the pro-D. Trump super PAC before becoming his national press secretary and later White House press secretary. Her departure was announced by D. Trump on August 12. He said Leavitt was leaving her White House role so she could spend more time with her young children and family. Leavitt recently returned from maternity leave after welcoming her second child with husband Nicholas Riccio in May. But leaving the White House does not mean leaving D. Trump’s operation. D. Trump said Leavitt will remain one of his top outside advisors and an influential voice within the Republican Party as attention turns toward the midterm elections. Leavitt also said D. Trump personally asked her to continue advising him from outside the administration. For now, she plans to take some time with her family before returning to MAGA Inc. around the Republican midterm convention in September. So while her title is changing, her connection to D.
