I loved the old Smithfield market. the second hand book shop was daddy's go to. I still have the copy of tarka the otter that he bought me sixty years ago. I think it cost. 1/3. one and threepence for those who do t recognise the old money. about seven and a half pence today. not bad for a book that I still get out every so often to re read. it's preciouse because my daddy bought it for me.

Wee Parrot in pet shop across from Smith field beside Gresham street used to say as you looked at the wee puppies and animals "show us your knickers" evidently someone lol made it their lides work tge other pet shop had a wee monkey it was a magical wee part of Belfast town our young people never got to enjoy it in today's society omg the Bank Bar Pot of tea and bacon sandwich on a Sat Whytes was a lunch treat and a walk around, Anderson McAuleys Robbs, Brands and Norman's, Bank buildings lovely character stores . Oh my goodness change is not always as good as we think we lost the character of our Belfast City ,GPO Grand central hotel,Eves Milliners my mother rip use to get us our Easter bonnets bless her 🙏 rip it is still all greatly missed , Bring it Back lol off course im being silly but I dream ♥️😂
