POV: You wake up after a cosy camp night in the van, surrounded by the wild and beautiful scenery of the Isle of Man, with one thing on your mind… breakfast! 🚐☕🥓 After spending the night van camping, listening to the sounds of nature and enjoying the freedom of staying out in the van, it was time to get up, drink some coffee and head out for a walk along the spectacular Isle of Man coastal path. The plan was to walk up the Ladnar Fallen, explore the public footpaths, take in the coastal views and enjoy another outdoor adventure. Unfortunately, the path was extremely overgrown, the vegetation was thick, and with so many ticks around at this time of year, I decided it was probably safer to turn around. Sometimes an adventure doesn’t quite go to plan, but that is all part of exploring the great outdoors! One minute you are imagining an incredible coastal walk, and the next minute you are fighting your way through overgrown paths while wondering whether every little itch is a tick crawling up your leg! 😂 Meanwhile, my stomach was still thinking about food. I was imagining a massive cooked breakfast, bacon, eggs, sausages, toast and something tasty after my night sleeping in the van. But after all that thinking about breakfast, I didn’t actually have any breakfast in the end! I just drank lots and lots of coffee and carried on with the day. ☕☕☕ This is real van life on the Isle of Man. It isn’t always glamorous glamping, perfect sunsets, beautiful sunrises and peaceful mornings beside the black sea. Sometimes it is overgrown public footpaths, ticks, empty stomachs, strong coffee and plans that completely change! But that is exactly why I love it. The freedom of van camping, waking up somewhere different, exploring hidden walks, discovering coastal paths, enjoying nature, chasing sunsets, watching sunrises and making memories around the beautiful Isle of Man. From peaceful camp nights and cosy van life to wild coastal walks, public rights of way, outdoor adventures, hiking trails, woodland paths, sea views, cliffs, beaches and hidden corners of the island, there is always something new to discover. Would you have carried on through the overgrown path, or would the thought of ticks have made you turn around too?
