Three days had passed since the worst night of Lisa's life. Three days since she'd cried in a stranger's car. Three days since Jennie had taken her to a rooftop and given her back the hope someone else had stolen. Three days of staring at her phone, thumb hovering over Jennie's contact name, trying to find the courage to text first. Then her doorbell rang. Lisa opened the door and her blood ran cold. Minho stood there, holding wilted roses, his expression carefully arranged into something resembling remorse.
"Lisa. Please. Just hear me out." "There's nothing to hear." She tried to close the door. He shoved his foot in the gap. "Baby, you misunderstood. That girl—she's just a coworker. It was a friendly dinner. She kissed me. I didn't kiss her back." "I saw you kiss her back." "You saw what you wanted to see." His voice hardened. "Don't be crazy, Lisa. You know I love you. You know I'd never—" "Get your foot out of my door." "Not until you listen to me!" He shoved the door hard. Lisa stumbled backward, her heart slamming against her ribs. Minho stepped inside, his remorseful mask slipping, replaced by something uglier. "I've been calling you for three days. Three days of silence. Do you know how that makes me look?" "I don't care how it makes you look. We're done. Get out." "You don't get to decide that." He grabbed her wrist—tight, too tight, his fingers digging into her skin. Lisa gasped, trying to pull away, but he yanked her closer. "You're mine, Lisa. You don't get to just—" "Let her go." The voice came from the doorway. Cold. Quiet. Deadly. Minho turned. Jennie stood there, still in her expensive coat, a coffee cup in one hand. She set it down on the hallway floor with deliberate calm. "Who the hell are you?" Minho demanded. "Someone you're about to regret meeting." Minho laughed. "What, her new girlfriend? That was fast. You move on quick, Lisa, I'll give you that—" He never finished the sentence. Jennie moved like water—fast, fluid, completely unexpected. She grabbed Minho's wrist, twisted it behind his back, and slammed him face-first against the wall so hard the picture frames rattled. "You like grabbing people?" Jennie's voice was ice. "Let's see how you like it." Minho struggled, but Jennie was stronger than she looked. She drove her knee into his side, and he crumpled with a grunt. A punch to his jaw sent him sprawling to the floor. "Get up," Jennie said. He didn't. "Get up and leave. And if I ever see you near her again, I won't stop at a few bruises. Do you understand me?" Minho scrambled backward, his nose bleeding, his bravado shattered. "You're insane!" "Yes." Jennie smiled, cold and sharp. "Now run." He ran. --- Lisa was shaking. Her wrist was red and raw where Minho had grabbed her. Jennie turned, her expression shifting from ice to concern in an instant. "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" "I'm fine. But you—" Lisa's eyes widened. "Your hand. You're bleeding." Jennie looked down. Her knuckles were split open, blood trickling down her fingers. "Oh. That. It's nothing." "That's not nothing! Sit down. Let me see." Lisa pulled Jennie to the couch, her own panic temporarily forgotten. She grabbed the first aid kit from the bathroom and knelt in front of Jennie, gently taking her injured hand. "You didn't have to do that," Lisa murmured, dabbing antiseptic on the wound. "Yes, I did." "You could've just called the police." "And let him keep touching you while we waited? No." Jennie's voice was fierce. "He grabbed you. He hurt you. I wasn't going to let that happen." Lisa's hands stilled. She looked up at Jennie—this stranger who had appeared out of nowhere twice now, who had locked her in a car and taken her to a rooftop and punched her ex-boyfriend in the face. "Why do you keep helping me?" Lisa whispered. "You don't even know me. Not really. We spent one night together. And yet you just... keep showing up." Jennie was quiet for a moment. "Because I can't stop thinking about you." "What?" --- Contination in comments #jenlisa #fyp #foryou #jenlisa_story #au
