Hi there, I wanted to get your opinion. I have an African Grey parrot, and I also used to have an Eclectus that, unfortunately, passed away. After some time, I wanted another bird, so I called a "breeder" in my country and asked for a recommendation; I was looking for a calm family bird, and he recommended a Double Yellow-headed Amazon (*Amazona oratrix*). Later, I came across information online that didn't quite align with that, but I assumed he was an expert, so I took his advice and got the Amazon. It’s been about a year now; the bird is very stubborn, but I love it dearly and don't want to give up on it. I’ve devised a diet plan for it, it spends several hours outside the cage at least once a day, and it has plenty of toys and space, yet it simply refuses to approach any of us. It doesn't necessarily bite, but it often attempts to, and I don't know what to do; it just isn't adjusting to us at all. We all have experience with parrots, but I’ve never had one like this. I also think the "breeder" made a mistake; the bird was a year old when I got it, having spent that year growing up in a single cage with about ten other parrots. Naturally, I reported the breeder because I felt the way he kept them was improper.

reasons your daily content made me so happy with this: 1. you call me bird friend, so validating and positive and consistent and you're soooo useful for teaching me for the someday future of me having a bird of my own! 2. i miss their voices too silly, you totes should interact with your audience asking them to guess the voices who wanted to join you! they have very important messages for us in a sense that they're alive and on your videos and are probably actually believing when they talk they are imparting very serious knowledge, it's the vibration i definitely hope to hear more of!
